Our Foster Programfor Australian multigen labradoodles

Available for Fostering:

Teddy

        Cherry
Teddy is a 14 week old second generation curly coated and non-shed boy that we expect will mature to be 18 - 20 pounds in weight.  He is a lovely natured boy, very friendly and sweet.  He has a curly apricot coloured coat and a cute rose/brown nose to match.  We would be willing to place him in the right guardian home, preferably close to Chemainus, so we can use him with as a stud boy with our F1 girl when they both grow up and pass their health testing.  If you are interested in Teddy, please drop us an email or give us a call  and tell us more about your family, etc. Cherry is an 18 month old medium sized multigen labradoodle with a lovely curly fleece coat and a rose nose,19 inches at the shoulder and weighs 45 pounds.  Cherry is a sweet natured girl, not a dominant nature at all, and would do best with a family and home of her own...  she gets along with other dogs but really shines in 'solo' situations!  Her coat is a pretty shade of caramel and the above photo shows her summer haircut.  Give us a call if you are  interested in being a guardian family for Cherry.

Also coming...   a second boy that we will be looking to foster.  This little guy is a very nice multigen red miniature labradoodle puppy that will be our main stud male.  At the moment, he is only six weeks old and has not yet come to us,  so we are patiently waiting!  He is a very solidly built boy with a red coat and will be similar in size to Special, around 16 inches at the shoulder.   He will need a home within 20 minutes of Chemainus.
This is an unusual time for us, to have a number of puppies available for guardian homes...  however, once these puppies have been placed, there will likely be a while before we will be needing to place puppies!

Fostering a dog can be an excellent way to have a top quality dog for a family pet.  We do not believe in the long term kennelling of our dogs.  Dogs raised in kennels often do not get the socialization and stimulation that is needed to be a well balanced, happy animal.  Therefore, we like to place our upcoming babies in forever homes with suitable families as their dog and we retain breeding rights.  We pay for all health testing, and when the dog is old enough, they come back to our home for breeding and whelping.  When the dog reaches the age (usually somewhere around the age of five) where they should be retired from breeding, we spay the dog for you and the dog enjoys the wonderful home it's had all it's life.  Males are usually retained for siring babies for longer, but do not need to leave their families for long periods.

Fostering programs have many benefits for the foster family, the breeder and the dog:

- foster families have a 'pick of litter' puppy chosen by the breeder
- the dog doesn't need to be rehomed as an adult after retiring
- there is no need for the breeder to kennel the dogs
- the dogs are well socialized and in good environments
- foster families can schedule trips during whelpings without paying
  for kennelling their pet
There are certain requirements for providing a foster home for one of our dogs.  Foster families must:
- own their own homes
- have a fully fenced yard
- take their dog to puppy obedience classes
- ensure the puppy is well socialized
- provide veterinary care when needed
- feed a diet approved by the breeder
- notify breeder when a female begins her heat cycle
- must not allow a female around intact males during her cycle
- must not allow a male to breed other females!
- live within reasonable driving distance
- be interviewed by the breeder
If you think our foster program interests you, please feel free to contact us and see what we have coming available for fostering.
